Day Four ~ A Radical Love

"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?
Even sinners love those who love them."
                                                                 The Gospel of Luke 6:36
                                                               Jesus Christ

It is easier for you to love people who look like you and think like you. Basically, we are most comfortable with those who come from our own clan. But, so are the chimpanzees. These primates, like us, are suspicious of outsiders. They too raid the territory of foreigners in order to kill and terrorize.

Yet, today's converging conditions of the global village are shaping a new reality for humankind. More than ever, we are being called to subdue our bestial inclinations so that we can forge out a new relationship with one another; one that honors our many races and multicultural make-up. More than ever, humanity needs to pursue this trans-formative kind of love.

Happy Holy Days 2015

Faithfully yours,
