Lambs To The Slaughter

Truly do not consider those people to be human beings; rather ......
for just as animals devour one another
so also human beings of this kind devour one another.    Jesus Christ
The Book of Thomas The Contender

Astrologers have been declaring this time would come. Recently the planet Jupiter has entered into Scorpio territory where secrets are dug up.  And boy, are we ever getting hit with scores of them already. Sex scandals galore, manufactured wars, and corruption at every level are the revelations we had better pay attention to.

Although big money has gone into keeping a lot of people quiet about what is really going on, the time has come to wake up or perish my friends. We have to face the facts about how we are allowing the destruction of our habitat and our bodies. We cannot continue to blatantly disregard our Mother Earth with our oil spills, water contamination and pesticides that kill our pollinators.

God only knows what is being sprayed across our skies.  Considering all the other environmental fiascoes "experts" have cooked up in the last 50 years I can no longer trust what is being said about these efforts at geo-engineering our weather,  I wonder how many know about the spraying of weaponized mycoplasma  in North America. Now, as a result of this we are seeing biting insects contaminated with this infective; this means that a simple bug bite can turn into a death sentence. And, even more strange is the CDC's refusal to accept the victims of this experiment as having a legitimate diagnosis in need of long-term treatment.

How were we convinced that regular dousing of our crops with chemicals is good for the land, or our bodies? Now, these poisons have made their way into human breast milk.  When you really take a look at what is going on here, you have to wonder who is it that keeps okaying all of this.

The fact, that any jurisdiction would think plastic beads in hand soap is okay, simply defies logic. Yet, our sleepy governments rubber stamp this nonsense only to watch it ruin our waterways. This seems intentional. Just as suspicious is the CDC's rubber stamping of vaccines while ignoring what our electron microscopy is telling us about their contamination with mycoplasma. And, on and on it goes. Folks, something is not right here. At the risk of sounding conspiratorial I would say Homo sapiens is under attack.

Somehow we have been manipulated into giving our power to the "scientific" experts; we let them drive policy when clearly they have been mistaken about many things. And, just like they did with deadly cigarettes, they want to keep us in the dark about the destruction that is really going on. I say this because I don't think many people in North America know about the recent oil spill in Athens, Greece or the second one that just took place in the Gulf of Mexico. The news networks to which I usually turn have kept eerily silent on these serious matters and so many more.

To be kind though,  I shouldn't assume our experts have all the facts. After all, with Big Pharma and Big Chemical funding our medical schools and research labs we can assume their Big money influences what is taught there. Perhaps this is why an essential course covering mycoplasma and its relationship to chronic diseases like cancer  and diabetes has not been made an integral part of the medical school curriculum. And, could it possibly be that the suspicious death of  over 100 top microbiologists has been an attempt to stop the transmission of this life-saving knowledge?

Some claim that these assaults on our environment and our bodies are the result of an inside job, likely the consequence of massive ignorance and greed. Others claim the inside job is the workings of a cabal of psychopathic humans. These devious, they say, have been allowed to take over the reigns of this ship by greasing the palms of whomever would have it. But, could it be that simple? Has the love of money got us in this pickle? Or, is there something more going on here?

Although hard to fathom, there are a number of people who believe the attack is coming from outside our species. The former Canadian Minister of  National Defense, Paul Hellyer is one of them. In his books and interviews Hellyer repeatedly states that our planet has been invaded by some kind of alien race. He even claims that these aliens have positioned themselves to impact US policies and geopolitics. And folks, he is not the only informed and connected one saying this.

I try to keep an open mind because of what I know. I do know that Homo sapiens is an animal species. Although our ability to cooperate has allowed for a certain level of complacency we would be naive to think we are immune from an attack outside of our species. I also know without a shadow of a doubt that somebody, or something, is making policy decisions that are detrimental for our planet and our bodies. Could it be then, that Homo sapiens is like a frog in water on the stove top? And, like that frog, what we don't realize is that we are about to get cooked.

Faithfully yours,

Sheila Banks

When mountains of contrary data don't force people to give up their ideas,
then they are no longer following the scientific method. They are following an ideology.
Lisa Feldman Barrett - How Emotions Are Made

If ever there was a time in history that our species is called to unite, it is now. There are definitely some nefarious acts going on that threaten Homo sapiens survival. For example, our governments are refusing to look at the problem with tainted vaccines; I know this because I have tried in Canada, Bill Welsh has tried in Scotland and the microbiologist Garth Nicolson  has in the USA. Research further if you find this hard to believe.

Furthermore, our mainstream media has been compromised. One example  I can give with certainty is the coverage in North America regarding the recent oil spill in Athens, Greece. It was never mentioned here in the news. I only discovered this when viewing a video done by someone who is stationed in Greece. This is strange because in Canada we have a considerable population of Greek immigrants and others who take holidays there.

If I hadn't done the research on mycoplasma in our vaccines I would not be sounding the alarm. At first glance it looks like a massive case of human stupidity but after looking at the excellent work of guerrilla journalists posted on youtube regarding the Las Vegas shooting, California fires  and the Sandy Hook shooting I now am entertaining a different conclusion.

No one wants to believe that our elected governments and their officials are not working on our behalf. But the evidence is there for anyone with an open mind to see. There is so much turmoil in the world eating up our energy and mental health; this keeps us distracted so that we remain unconscious as to what is really going down.

Whites are told that blacks are our enemies while Christians are told that Islam is the culprit. Spain is the enemy to Catalonia's separatists; and, throughout the world one leader after another keeps stoking the fires of tribalism in one form or another. But, if the truth be told we are one species that has depended upon cooperation to get things done. In fact, it is our ability to cooperate that has enabled us to ascend the evolutionary ladder.

However, we can no longer deny where Homo sapiens is on the evolutionary ascent. We are a primate that is barely domesticated. Many have no idea that humans are animals; they actually think that our species is something greater in the scheme of things. This lack of humility in the masses is a blind spot as many tend to think that humankind is not vulnerable to extinction like other animals. After all, don't humans know it all?

And, that hubristic attitude, my peeps, leaves us susceptible to manipulation because it threatens our curiosity. Nevertheless, if we are to fight this battle for the actual survival of humankind, all of us must find in our hearts a humility; an attitude that will enable us to cooperate like never before because that is what is needed right now. I leave this with you hoping that you will do your part.

Faithfully yours,

Sheila Banks

Will God Survive Science?

Today I heard Dan Brown being interviewed on the CBC radio program "Q". He is the author who stirred up a lot of controversy with his book called The Da Vinci Code. Now he has a new one entitled Origin.

Mr. Brown commented that one of the big questions facing humanity is: "Will God survive science?"  I jolted at that question. Unexpectedly it brought to my attention, once again, how different the world seems to a mystic.

For me, it is a matter of whether religion will survive science, not God. Science is merely a tool used by human primates to get at the true nature of the reality in which we are situated. No doubt Homo sapiens has been able to use knowledge thus acquired in astounding ways. But, to entertain the idea that our species can actually escape from the Law governing our organic predicament is very revealing.

Don't you think it is about time for all of us to hold up a looking glass for honest self-inspection? We have got to stop coveting illusions about our omnipotence or face extinction. Technological advancement and character development are separate aspects of the human animal. If we dare to face the truth about our own humble position we get to see that humans are barely domesticated primates with lethal weapons.

Too many of us lack a conscious awareness of our own psychological processes. I am not saying that it is easy to escape the stranglehold of one's own subjective frame of reference. Nevertheless, an accurate assessment of one's own thoughts and actions is what is required of the human animal. And that, is what religion was meant to deal with. With this in mind we can see how far off course our religious institutions have taken us.

We have reason to be disappointed in our religious organizations. They have not been very successful at prodding Homo sapiens along the evolutionary ladder. And now, it really does look like our cognitive science has come up with some very effective tools to help the human primate turn his gaze inward so that he can deal with his inner beast.

Everything has its day. Maybe the religion we have known, and in some cases learned to distrust, has taken humanity as far as it can. But does this mean we should be throwing out the baby with the bathwater?  Can we re-purpose our religious institutions for the evolutionary task at hand?

Regardless of  the fate we choose for religion, let us refrain from imitating the folks of Genesis 11 in the Bible. In order to make a name for themselves they built the tower of Babel; and then, they watched as The Almighty made sure it crumbled to the ground.

Man's Number is the Beast's Number

I wrote this poem about 20 years ago. My fond desire is for it to be worked into a reggae classic one day. It can be found in my book entitled Thoughts From A Contemplative Beast: The Paradigm Shift For The New Millennium.      Happy Thanksgiving Canada

Puniness in the Awesome Scheme of Things

Fortuitously the cosmos has lined up a celestial event that speaks to the puniness of humankind. Hopefully this amazing event will spawn a lot more humility on Earth. In recognition of the solar eclipse of August 21st I am posting a poem I wrote years ago. It gets at that feeling of puniness in the awesome scheme of things. It can be found in my book Thoughts From A Contemplative Beast.

In the Ever-flowing Universe

Exterior to all the clamour and the glamour
a sliver of a silvery moon hangs in the balance.
Where the hills kiss the night sky,
the crimson glow of the horizon
declares the position of the setting sun.

As the Earth turns,
that great ball of light and heat
suspended in a star-studded void,
plays out its part in the cosmic fire dance.

Beyond the Shadow of a Doubt

" That repose (new world) which you are waiting for has come,
but for your part you do not recognize it. "
Jesus Christ - The Gospel According to Thomas

I am astonished at those who dismiss the importance of Thomas' gospels. I guess they don't know that scholars now believe these documents do in fact date back to the very beginnings of the Christian era. These gospels, along with other Gnostic scriptures, were tucked away safely in the Egyptian desert (Nag Hamadi region) for nearly two millennia. It was not until 1945 that jars housing these leather-bound papyrus codices were unearthed by a farmer.

Until this find these ancient manuscripts, that were buried about 45 years after the murder of Jesus, had not seen the light of day. What this means is that no one had a chance to put to flame the parts of this collection that they did not like. No one had the opportunity to censor any of the ideas that didn't fit with particular views. And most fortuitously, no one had a chance to send into obscurity important insights Jesus shared with Thomas.

Thomas, one of Jesus' apostles, has been portrayed as a skeptic of sorts. However, his doubts about the resurrection didn't stop him from making important contributions to our knowledge about Jesus. After all, it was through Thomas' gospels that I came to see that Jesus' take on things was very much in line with what I had a glimpse of during my mystical union.

During my encounter with the Almighty I came to the realization that the human body is in fact a domestic animal. In my mind's eye I could see that our species is barely domesticated and in need of an upgrade. So you can imagine my surprise to discover later that Jesus, two millennia ago, preached these facts to his inner circle.

What astonishes me even further are those I meet who can't grasp the fact that we humans are primates. "I have been created in the image of God" or "I am an animal plus"say the many. There is this tendency to focus on how evolved our species is all the while ignoring the obvious about our bestial origins. We need to realize that we are animals in an ecological context.

In fact, right now we need a global acknowledgment of our species' humble status within the scheme of things. If ever we are to emerge from our current chaos we must have a rethink about our place in the universe. There is no escape from the Law that governs our organic predicament. When we pollute the water there is nothing to drink. If we traumatize children we get maladjusted adults.

At this juncture in Homo sapiens' evolutionary ascent  we humans are being called to undergo a transformation of consciousness by making a shift in our paradigms. The peace and harmony we all long for will remain a pipe dream as long as we neglect to cultivate the kind of genuine humility Christ prescribed for us two thousand years ago.

Sheila Banks

A Call to the Flower Power

The Electric Church

One last shot of Jimi's finger magic,
poured out through his wailing guitar,
will alert the psychedelic zombies to
the spirit vibrating across the airways.

The voodoo hippies will awaken
to the call for a new renaissance strong,
but no longer graced with Janis
hot at the microphone.

The children of love will again
rise up, as they no longer need
a resurrection of John Lennon's
imagination to spur them on.

The slumbering flower power will awaken
to destiny and descend like an angel
to infuse one more hefty dose of love.
